Bonitation is a breeding assessment that is mandatory for a dog to be included in the breeding program. It is a comprehensive evaluation of the dog's exterior, temperament, and health status.

Required Health Tests

To successfully pass bonitation, the dog must meet the following health requirements:

• Hip Dysplasia (HD) - X-ray examination with evaluation
• Patellar Luxation - examination of the knee joints
• Eye Examination - screening for hereditary eye diseases

New Requirements Since 2021

• Thyroid - thyroid function examination
• DWLM (Depigmentation of the Weight-bearing Lick Mark) - depigmentation examination

Bonitation includes:

1. Review of health test results 2. Exterior evaluation according to the breed standard 3. Temperament and behavior assessment 4. Measurement and weighing 5. Overall evaluation and breeding recommendation

To register for bonitation, fill out the [bonitation application form](/documents/prihlaska-bonitace.pdf) and send it along with copies of health test results to the breeding advisor.
